State Fair

Here they are at the STATE FAIR!!! What a fun place for Forty Days to perform. Once again, the guys did such a great job! It was really neat to see people who were just walking by stop to hear the band.
Here is a video of the band's arrangement of "Fishin' in the Dark" by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. It is one of my favorites that they play.

Grantsville High School Tailgate Party

Forty Days played at Grantsville High School's tailgate party this past Friday. It was the high school's first football game of the season, so there were a lot of people there to support the team and hear the band. The band was a real BIG hit with everyone at the party! It was announced that they would be playing again for the high school's homecoming game in October and everyone cheered really loud!!

For this show the band was asked to play a couple different numbers, one for when the opposing team came out, and one for when Grantsville's team came out. Being the talented band that they are, Forty Days came up with the two numbers the night before! I've included the videos of both. Since Grantsville's mascot is a Cowboy, it was requested that the song for the opposing team be "Should of Been a Cowboy" by Toby Keith. That got the crowd excited! Sorry about the shaky camera in some moments, though. I was trying to turn the camera on the tri-pod to catch the excitement and it wasn't cooperating. The song for Grantsville's team was "Eye of the Tiger." Good times!!

Riverton Fundraiser

I just wanted to add a couple more pics from the fundraiser. The total raised that day was almost $10,000! That is so amazing. We were told that it will cover the majority of their bills for this year. I'm glad that all the guys in Forty Days were willing to help out. They did great!

Playing out for a good cause. There was a close call when the family made a request for a slow song, but Rick saved the day. He gave the guys a few chords and told Bryce it was in 4/4 and off they went. No one really knew, they had never played the song once. Thanks Rick.

Benefit in Riverton

Just to add to what Michelle mentioned, the benefit concert in Riverton went GREAT last Saturday. The guys are just SOOO awesome! It was wonderful to see so many people coming to support the cause. Forty Days was proud to add to the venue and participate in the event.

Here is a good shot of the three vocalists!
Oh, and we can't forget Chad. He does such a GREAT job on acoustic guitar! Big thanks to his wife, Nicole--she ran the soundboard for this concert!
Here are a couple videos from the concert. The first is the band's arrangement of Tom Petty's "Learning to Fly" and the second is "Can't You See," originally performed by The Marshall Tucker Band. Sorry that the camera was so far away. Next time I'll zoom in a little more.
After the final number there was a request from a gentleman for a slow love song so that he could dance with his wife. Luckily, Rick had a few up his sleeve and the rest of the band was able to improvise very well. Here is a little snippet. Gotta love the pink outfit! Way to support the cause!!

Pretty In Pink???

Got pink? Forty Days did by the end of their concert in Riverton this weekend. They were helping to raise money for a woman suffering from breast cancer. Chad came prepared in his pink shirt. Dillon and Bryce ended up with pink head bands. Take a good look because you probably won't ever see Bryce in pink again! And his drums even got a pink skull sticker for the bass drum. It was a very relaxed, good time!
