Tooele Arts Festival 2010

Forty Days had their first official concert of the season at the Tooele Arts Festival this past Saturday. The guys were excited to unveil several of their new, original pieces that they have been working on over the winter months. It was a terrific concert and they all did amazing! As part of their line-up this season, the band has put together an acoustic section of the show that sounds AWESOME! The video is of Forty Days' acoustic arrangement of Seven Bridges Road. For the first time drummer Bryce Jensen joined the vocal ranks and even brought out a percussion box. They all sounded so good together!!

New Website & Update

Hello Forty Days Fans!

This is Joseph (from the band). It's been a while since we've had a post on the blog so I thought I'd let everyone know what's been going on. First, however, I'd like to let everyone know that we recently launched our official website. Updates about some of our events will still be posted on the blog. Check out the new site:

As for the lack in postings over the past few months, we've actually been working hard putting together a brand new line-up of music for the busy upcoming performing season. We're really excited to share what we've been working on! Particularly, we have been working on quite a few new original pieces as well some fresh cover tunes. In the next few weeks we will be recording a demo that we hope will be the first step in a future album.

We hope to see you later this year at one of our events!

Pumpkin Walk at the Benson Grist Mill

Forty Days played for the Annual Pumpkin Walk at the Benson Grist Mill Saturday night. By the end of the show it was pretty cold outside, but the band sounded great and everyone seemed to be having a such a good time! The atmosphere at the Pumpkin Walk was a lot of fun! Dillon, Joseph and Chad even matched for this concert (not planned)! Here are a couple videos from the performance. The first is "Standing Outside the Fire" by Garth Brooks. The second is a fiddle/drum medley that Joseph and Bryce came up with to Joseph's arrangement of "Simple Gifts." It sounded really good!

Grantsville H.S. Homecoming Game

Look familiar? The band was back at GHS on Friday playing for the Homecoming Football Game tailgate party. They added a few new original songs to their show, which sounded great! The band was given matching homecoming t-shirts for this performance. Don't they look GOOD?! It was a really fun concert!

State Fair

Here they are at the STATE FAIR!!! What a fun place for Forty Days to perform. Once again, the guys did such a great job! It was really neat to see people who were just walking by stop to hear the band.
Here is a video of the band's arrangement of "Fishin' in the Dark" by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. It is one of my favorites that they play.

Grantsville High School Tailgate Party

Forty Days played at Grantsville High School's tailgate party this past Friday. It was the high school's first football game of the season, so there were a lot of people there to support the team and hear the band. The band was a real BIG hit with everyone at the party! It was announced that they would be playing again for the high school's homecoming game in October and everyone cheered really loud!!

For this show the band was asked to play a couple different numbers, one for when the opposing team came out, and one for when Grantsville's team came out. Being the talented band that they are, Forty Days came up with the two numbers the night before! I've included the videos of both. Since Grantsville's mascot is a Cowboy, it was requested that the song for the opposing team be "Should of Been a Cowboy" by Toby Keith. That got the crowd excited! Sorry about the shaky camera in some moments, though. I was trying to turn the camera on the tri-pod to catch the excitement and it wasn't cooperating. The song for Grantsville's team was "Eye of the Tiger." Good times!!

Riverton Fundraiser

I just wanted to add a couple more pics from the fundraiser. The total raised that day was almost $10,000! That is so amazing. We were told that it will cover the majority of their bills for this year. I'm glad that all the guys in Forty Days were willing to help out. They did great!
